my first pair of shoes were horrible and i couldn't get over the box at all. When i got these shoes i got over the box. i broke them in fairly quickly and they lasted me about six months, i think a good amount for a first year pointe dancer. These shoes are more for the wider foot and not so much for a skinny foot. the box is deep and very supportive. i like the shank it gives great support. i cannot wear them without toe pads but my friends can they are a very form fitting foot and thy mold to your foot better then other brands. if you have a wide foot and short toes, like me, i would look into buying these shoes, but every foot is different and every foot needs a different pointe shoe. e sure to get the right shoe, shank, and size for you so you can be sure to better yourself in pointe training.
